Saginaw-area boys basketball teams punched their tickets to the district championship games Wednesday. Check out who’s moving on and whose season ended Wednesday in the boys basketball district semifinals.
Julian Fowler lead the River Rats with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Fowler made two free throws with 26 seconds remaining to put the River Rats up for good. Jonah VanderMeer added 21 points and six assists.
Fennville's Ben Peterson scored 36 and West Ottawa's Nash Bosma scored 31. Ben Peterson led the Blackhawks with 36 points and eight rebounds. Quinn Rosema scored nine points and Aidan Swingle added eight points.
The Holland High School girls basketball team used a huge fourth-quarter to come back and beat Ottawa hills 58-54 on Tuesday night. Holland trailed by nine points after the force first quarter and then by 10 at halftime.

The Hamilton boys basketball team defeated Allendale 62-51 on Friday night to open OK Blue Conference play. The Hawkeyes opened the game on a 19-6 run and never looked back. Brant Goodpaster led Hamilton with 22 points.
"Basketball only rewards excellence, and we did not live up to that tonight as coaches or players," Hamilton coach Nick Kronemeyer said. "Great effort and mental toughness from Wayland's coaches and players.
